Functions of PE Coated Paper Sheet

A PE Coated Paper Sheet is a composite material created by laminating a layer of Polyethylene (PE) plastic onto a paperboard substrate through a hot-melt process. Its core function is to endow the paper with superior protective and processing properties, as detailed below:

Excellent Moisture and Water Resistance: The PE layer forms a continuous, impermeable barrier that effectively blocks water, moisture, and other liquids. This makes it an ideal choice for liquid packaging (e.g., milk, juice cartons) and packaging for moist or frozen goods (e.g., frozen food, takeaway containers), preventing the paper from becoming soft or disintegrating.
Superior Oil and Grease Resistance: The coating effectively prevents the penetration of oils and greasy substances. This makes it highly suitable for packaging greasy foods like fried items, oily snacks, and butter, preventing stain-through and maintaining the package's structural integrity and appearance.
